Regulations for the Radio Sailing League for 2016
1.
General
1.1 The MYA League
Championship is a competition to further
clubs’ enthusiasm for open racing and to encourage club members to enter Open
events, both at their Home Water and at Away events in support for their club.
1.2 The League year shall run from 1 November until 31
October of the following year.
2. Qualifying Events
2.1 With the exception of Team Events, International Championships and
any events for which there are restrictions upon entry (e.g. Veterans etc), ALL MYA OPEN events published in the MYA yearbook
and/or on the MYA website are deemed to be qualifying events.
2.2 The following classes shall be included: International One Metre
(IOM), Radio A (RA), Radio Marblehead (RM), Radio Ten Rater
(R10R), Radio 36” (R36), Radio Six Metre (R6M), Dragon Force 65 (DF65), RG65,
Footy.
3. Allocation of Points
3.1 The MYA database of affiliated members shall determine the club to
which their points shall be allocated.
3.2 All points allocated at qualifying
events will be recorded, but for those competitors who are not registered as
MYA members by 30th September of the League year, their points will
be excluded from being allocated to affiliated clubs.
3.3 For all qualifying events, the
number of points awarded to each competitor shall be calculated on the basis
that any event winner scores 100 points. Each successive place position scores
a proportionate amount of 100. The
differential between each place, and the last place score, is calculated as 100
divided by the number of competitors.
The points in the published League tables shall be displayed to one
decimal place.
3.4 Additionally, competitors shall be
allocated 5 bonus points for each event they sail in a qualifying event away
from their home club within their District and 10 bonus points for each event
they sail in a different District to that of their home club.
4. Calculation
of a Club’s Points 4.1 A club hosting
League qualifying events, so long as the results are obtained by the Radio
League Secretary for such events, shall receive a bonus of 25 points per event
up to a maximum of 125 bonus points per League year.
4.2
Subject to Regulation 3.1 above, a Club’s League points shall be the
total of the points allocated to members of that club taking part in the event,
including any bonus points as in 3.3 above and club points as in 4.1.
5. Club
Performance Improvement Award
5.1 Using the previous year’s points
total as a base, each club’s initial
given performance rating will be set at the beginning of the year and be
measured against the previous year (but see 5.4). The club achieving the largest performance
rating increase at the end of the League year and not being awarded the Annual
Club League Championship Trophy, will be awarded the Annual Club Performance
Improvement Award.
5.2 From the beginning of the year the
club’s ongoing performance rating
will start from zero and will build up during the year and shall be calculated
using the formula CP2x100/CP1 where CP1 is the total number of points for a
club in year 1 and CP2 is the number of points for that club during year 2.
5.3 A club’s ongoing performance
rating shall be displayed to one decimal place and be updated and published with the other
tables.
5.4 A club which did not receive any
points in the previous year will not be eligible for this award until their
second year of scoring.
